Winning Time Teams up with Athletes for a FitPlanet
to Propel Eco-Friendly Practices
Seattle, WA – August 19th, 2009 – Winning Time Americas, EPA-approved chip timing
producer, is ramping up its green efforts with the support of Boston-based Athletes for a
FitPlanet. FitPlanet will be providing environmental consulting and support to Winning
Time’s timing solutions providers and the event directors they serve.
Winning Times has been making strides since 2008 to green it’s own operations as well
as the operations of the running, triathlon, and cycling events it supports. On the top of
Winning Times green to-do list is continuing to provide eco-friendly chip timing solutions
to companies around the world, while also helping it’s current licensee’s to green their
own events.
“We are excited to be supporting Winning Time’s efforts to encourage green practices,”
said Bruce Rayner, FitPlanet’s Chief Green Officer. “Many race directors recognize the
need to become more environmentally responsible and together with Winning Time we
can provide them with a path to achieve this goal.”
Winning Time recently earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s WasteWise
certification. It is the only timing company to date that has been awarded the certificate
based on its design of reusable timing chips and its use of recycled materials. The ecoefforts
at Winning Time have been noticed in the racing community, as both the Lilac
Bloomsday Run and the Boulder Marathon selected Winning Time to provide timing
services in part due to the company’s commitment to environmental practices.
Race directors, athletes and the endurance racing community can look to Winning Time
and FitPlanet for racing solutions without environmental compromise. To learn more,
